37 Week Picture!

Hola Muchachas,

Here is a 37 week picture of Anna. Yes I know I used a 36 week picture for my 37 week post in my last update. I forgot how to count.

37 weeks! Still no babies. I know!!!!

Here is a picture of Anna at 36 weeks! F-A-B-U-LOUS-AWE-SOME.
I can’t believe we have gone this long.

We just had our 37 week ultrasound and it’s a crap shoot when these kids are going to come out. Since they don’t like to let twins go many days past 38 weeks, we have an induction suction scheduled for next Wednesday. Ok, it’s not really called that but I like words that rhyme…don’t you?

What’s going to happen is, on Wednesday night a catheter will be inserted to open Anna’s cervix. If labor has not started by Thursday morning, drugs will be pumped in to start contractions. Soon after, the babies will fall out…just. like. that. Then, drugs will be pumped into me. I have a list ready.

We did have some excitement this past Sunday, though. During the night, at about 1:00am, Anna started having contractions. At 4:00am she told me we had about an hour before we had to go to the hospital. I got up, worked out, washed up and came downstairs to leave for the hospital. Anna was resting on the couch and said the contractions stopped and it was a false alarm.

I felt like I was watching TV and the “to be continued” message came on right before you find out who the father is.**

35 Weeks....Fo Shizzle!

We just had our 35-week appointment and ultra sound.

The OB stuck her fingers in Anna’s vagina to see how her cervix is doing. It’s soft but not dilated. She estimates at least another week and maybe 3 more weeks. If Anna has to go three more weeks she will strangle me with her bare hands.

For those of you that went to a catholic high school where your sex ed class was like, “sex is bad and can kill you unless your married", I’ve included this diagram to clarify what’s happening.

34 weeks!

Wow, these weeks until the birth are flying by like something that flies fast. We’ve spent most of our time checking things off an enormous “to-do” list.

I feel like every single home improvement project needs to be completed before the kids arrive. Anna said I’m nesting. I say I’m an interior decorating in the making. My guilty pleasure is to sit down with a Crate and Barrel catalog, a Pottery Barn catalog and an IKEA catalog and mark all the cool things I want in our home. I bought and returned about 20 drapes so far because I didn’t like them. That’s not weird. ..really. I bet your house is ugly, so there.

Anna is doing well considering. She isn’t sleeping through the night due to the big belly that is going to break our bed and all the peeing every two hours. Her legs are getting a little swollen as well so one of my biggest duties is putting on her compression socks. Anna gets the socks ready and I slip them over her toes and pull them up her leg. It’s really hard. One time I almost cried when my fingers got stuck between the sock and her leg. I could have died from the loss of blood circulation.

Thankfully, that didn't happen and I was able to blog about it.
